The National Union of Metalworkers of SA says overcoming poverty and unequal socio-economic conditions, is a necessary step towards taking responsibility for the future of the ANC, SACP and Cosatu.
Numsa secretary-general, Irvin Jim says the ANC-led liberation movement is set up for failure by its shift away from a radical revolutionary path.
He says it is impossible for the ideals of the Freedom Charter to be realised without redistributing South Africa's wealth.
Jim says the country's mineral wealth is foreign owned and controlled, leaving the ANC, the Communist Party and Cosatu to struggle against inequality and poor service delivery.
He also criticised the government's failure to ban labour brokers and deal with concerns around Gauteng's e-tolling system.
