Eleven people appeared briefly in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Friday in connection with the taxi shoot-out that left three people dead.
National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson, Natasha Ramkisson-Kara, says the 11, together with a co-accused who is in hospital, each face charges of public violence, three murder charges and a charge of attempted murder.
The charges related to Wednesday morning’s shooting at the Brook Street taxi rank near Berea Road Railway station.
Twenty Five firearms were confiscated at the crime scene.
The case was adjourned to September 23 for a formal bail application.
Ramkisson-Kara said the State would be opposing bail.
