Suspect who got bail for Brendin Horner murder is back behind bars


Accused number two in the Brendin Horner murder case is back in jail.

Free State Police Commissioner, Baile Motswenyane, revealed in her address at the Ministerial Rural Safety Imbizo in Bethlehem on Thursday that 44-year old Sekola Matlaletsa is currently in police custody on a stock theft charge separate to the Horner murder charge.

His alleged accomplice, 32-year old Sekwetje Mahlamba, has also been linked to the same stock theft incident.

Free State police spokesperson, Thandi Mbambo says the re-arrest occurred shortly after Senekal Magistrate, Deon Van Rooyen, granted Matlaletsa R 5 000 bail on 22 October.

Horner, a 21-year-old farm manager was killed on a farm outside Paul Roux in the Free State on the first of October in a murder that shocked the nation.
