A former senior official of the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality and two others appeared in court on numerous counts of corruption, money laundering, fraud and theft.
The National Prosecuting Authority said that the former Director of Water Services and chairperson of the Bid Evaluation Committee, Petunia Pheeha, along with Amukelani Phoku and Sibusiso Dube were charged with three companies linked to them.
NPA spokesperson, Sipho Ngweman, said they appeared in court on Thursday in Mpumalanga.
He said Pheeha and Dube were granted bail R20 000, while Phoku was release on R10 000.
The matter was postponed to 26 February 2021 for disclosure of the case docket.
