A 41-year-old man is expected to appear in court on Thursday for his alleged involvement in the armed robbery of a police station in Kuruman in the Northern Cape.
Police spokesperson, Nomthandazo Mnisi, says he was arrested on Tuesday after community members alerted police.
She said it's alleged that he was one of three gunmen who held up police members at Tsineng police station last Saturday and stole several firearms.
Mnisi said no shots were fired during the robbery.
However, she said police were able to recover all the stolen firearms and ammunition, which included eight pistols, three rifles, and two shotguns, and live ammunition, during the suspects' arrest.
