Detectives from Sandton in Johannesburg have cracked the case of a high school teacher who was murdered while jogging in Parkmore.
Kirsten Kluyts, 34, who was a teacher at Delta Park High School, South of Johannesburg was murdered at George Lea Park on 29 October.
The teacher was participating in a MyRun event hosted by the Sandton Sports Club and said their timing system identified that there was still someone out on the course.
The Club said a search was conducted and Kluyts' body was discovered.
According to police the suspect in custody is a 21-year-old student who was arrested on Sunday at his residence at a tertiary institution in Parkmore, in Sandton.
Police spokesperson Brenda Muridili says the arrest follows an investigation by detectives and the cooperation of 24/7 Security Management.
The student will appear in the local magistrates court soon where he will be charged with murder.
