The investigating officer in the Brendin Horner murder case has revealed in the Senekal Magistrate Court on Tuesday, that there is no DNA evidence at this stage, linking the accused to the crime. Investigator Pieter Myburgh, conceded when cross-examined by advocate, Joseph
Kgoelenya that the bloodstained clothes and knife that were found inside a freezer located at accused number one Sekwetje Mahlamba's shack, are still undergoing forensic testing.
This means that the State's case, at this point, hinges on the testimony of eyewitnesses who allegedly overheard the suspects confess to the murder in a tavern.
The investigating Officer Myburgh told the court last week that Horner was strangled to death and stabbed several times.
The bail hearing continues.
