Eskom has announced that another day of Stage 4 load shedding would be implemented on Sunday.
In a statement late on Saturday evening, the embattled power utility said that Stage 2 would be implemented throughout the night, and that Stage 4 would commence at 08:00 on Sunday morning until 23:00.
Eskom also confirmed that the latest round of load shedding was as a result of the recent cyclone in Mozambique.
It said even with the implementation of Stage 4 load shedding on Saturday, it experienced a further decline in water reserves, which was used to supplement generation capacity.
Eskom said the management of the diesel and water resources was essential to ensure that the impact of rotational blackouts during the week could be reduced.
