Speed camera torched in Mpumalanga

The MEC for Community Safety and Security in Mpumalanga Pat Ngomane has launched an investigation into what he called anarchic behaviour after a speed camera was torched.

The incident happened along the R40 road between Mbombela and White River.

Ngomane said that this particular camera helped the department to bring to book more than 17 500 speeding motorists.

He condemned the act of destruction saying that nobody had the right to destroy cameras.

Ngomane added that the camera could save people's lives and urged anyone with information to come forward.
