The embattled Speaker of Parliament has filed papers to stay her reported pending arrest on corruption charges.

According to court papers on Friday, the National Director of Public Prosecutions, Shamila Batoyi and Police Minister, Bheki Cele, were named as first and second respondents.

The two investigators in the case were also cited.

The Speaker wants the investigators to furnish her with the State's entire brief and the police case docket against her.

Mapisa-Nqakula is accused of soliciting R2.3 million rand in bribes from a former military contractor when she served as defence minister.

She has since taken special leave following a raid on her home this week by the NPA's investigative unit.

Meanwhile, Parliament has rejected reports that the Speaker was in custody on Friday.

Spokesperson, Mike Ramagoma, says current media reports were based on a tweet from UDM leader, Bantu Holomisa.

He said that Mapisa-Nqakula and her family were at home and had no interaction with the National Prosecuting Authority's Investigative Directorate since Tuesday.

Ramagoma says the Speaker remains on special leave, and her legal team will communicate any further developments in the matter.
