South Africa awaits news on Madiba's condition

 The presidency is expected to issue an update later today on the condition of former president Nelson Mandela.

This follows the frenzy after he was admitted to One Military Hospital in Pretoria over the weekend.

Earlier, presidential spokesperson Mac Maharaj said there was no need to panic over Madiba's health.

He said Mandela is in the hands of a good medical team.

The 94-year-old former statesman was admitted to hospital on Saturday.
