Vosburg police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after six men were killed in an accident on Friday night.
Northern Cape police said that men were travelling in a Kombi when the driver lost control and the vehicle overturned on the R384 between Vosburg and Carnarvon.
“The accident happened Friday, at approximately 17:45,” a NC police statement said.
“Our preliminary investigation indicates that Kombi could possibly had a tyre bust, and in the process the driver lost control.”
“The driver and other five passengers were certified dead on the accident scene by the emergency services personnel. Whilst other four passengers were transported to hospital with serious injuries.”
A police spokesperson said that the identities of the deceased and injured passengers would be withheld until their next of kin are informed.
