Six killed in fiery Limpopo car crash

Limpopo police are investigating a case of culpable homicide, after six people were killed when two cars collided on the R81 near Giyani in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe says it is believed that two cars, a BMW and a Mercedes Benz, were travelling in opposite directions and collided head-on between Giyani and Polokwane.

He says the BMW caught fire on impact and burned with the occupants inside, bringing the total number of fatalities to six, including the two drivers.

The victims are yet to be identified and the cause of the accident is still being investigated.
