Afrikaans singer Nadine who is dating Bulls legend Derick Hougaard has taken to social media to complain about people following her to the hospital where he is being treated.
Hougaard is receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a Tshwane hospital after he fell ill a week ago and is reportedly fighting for his life.
Nadine took to her official Facebook page to say that she is being followed and threatened by people who are demanding access to Hougaard.
She said that only she and close family members were allowed at his bedside and asked for the rules of the hospital to be followed and respected.
Nadine has accused Gauteng diamond dealer Louis Liebenberg, Helena Niedinger, who is a former psychologist, and people with cameras of taking photographs of Hougaard on his ventilator.
The singer said it was disrespectful not only to Hougaard but also to the staff who attend to him and other patients in the ward.
Hougaard was admitted to the hospital over a week ago for Respiratory Pneumonia.
Known affectionately as the "Liefling of Loftus", Hougaard played over 100 games for the Bulls between 2002 and 2008.
In the 2002 Currie Cup final against the Golden Lions, Hougaard broke Naas Botha's 15-year record for points scored in a Currie Cup final, scoring 26 points, two more than Botha’s record.
He made his test debut for the Springboks during the 2003 Rugby World Cup, when he was 20 years old.
