The veteran South African actress best known for her starring role in the 1988 film "Fiela se Kind" has passed away.
The 66-year-old Shaleen Surtie-Richards' death was confirmed in a brief statement by her Management Agency in Randburg on Monday.
Surtie-Richards also starred in various film, stage and television productions and was and had a starring role in South Africa's first-ever soapie, Egoli: Place of Gold.
Elysian Management asked the public to give the family time to process the news and promised to release more information as it becomes available.
