Sixteen people, including eight police members, are due to appear in court in Gauteng on Friday on charges related to tender fraud.
A retired lieutenant-general is among those arrested in raids this week by a special unit set up by the police to conduct the probe.
National police spokesperson, Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo, says the charges relate to a tender worth R50 million to brand police vehicle and dates back to 2017.
On Thursday morning the suspects were simultaneously arrested at their respective places of residence across the country.

The pending arrest of a Lieutenant Colonel will bring the total to 10 the number of police officers arrested.
