Seven people have died and two are in a critical condition following a head-on collision between two light motor vehicles in the early hours of Sunday morning outside Polokwane.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 5:50 am along with Provincial Rescue and EMS services and three other private Emergency Medical Services.
Two BMW vehicles were found on the scene each with three people who had already succumbed to their various fatal injuries.
A woman, believed to be in her early 30s, was treated and transported by another private service in a critical condition to Seshego District Hospital where she too unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.
Police and other authorities were on scene for further investigations.
