Seven killed in single vehicle accident in Durban

Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula has lamented the deaths of seven people who died in a horror-crash in Durban on Tuesday morning.

His department reports that a heavily overloaded light motor vehicle overturned on the N2 at the Inanda bridge flyover at approximately 06:20.

The vehicle was transporting eight passengers at the time.

Seven occupants died on the scene and one person sustained serious injuries.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are underway.
