Durban Serious Organised Crime Investigation Unit members and several other role players have seized cocaine worth an estimated R16 million at the Durban harbour.
Police spokesperson, Captain Simphiwe Mhlongo says members conducted a covert inspection last week after they received information of a container loaded with drugs inside a vessel from Brazil in South America.
When the inter-agency teams opened the targeted container, they found 32 bricks of cocaine, weighing approximately 1.1 kilogrammes each, inside a hidden compartment.
Captain Mhlongo said no arrests had been made at this stage and investigations are continuing.
