September fuel prices - the punches just keep coming

Embattled consumers should brace for massive fuel hikes when the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy adjusts fuel prices for September.

The Automobile Association (AA), who was commenting on unaudited data from the Central Energy Fund, says the hikes to petrol prices will be the highest since July last year.

The AA says petrol is expected to climb by between R1.59 and R1.65 per litre while the wholesale price of diesel is expected to increase by a whopping R2.85.

The Department is expected to announce the adjustments later today and will be implemented from Wednesday.
