Security officer critical after cash-in-transit heist

A security officer was left critically injured on Thursday morning following a cash-in-transit heist on the N3 Highway in Spruitview in Ekhuruleni.

ER24 said the man was airlifted to hospital after.

Spokesperson, Russel Meiring, said that paramedics found the officer a few metres away from the cash-in-transit vehicle.

He said the man had a gunshot wound to the head.
