The search for missing six-year-old Joslin Smith is intensifying in Saldanha with an identified area in Diazville that was subdivided into zones as part of the coordination of the search.
Joslin is a Grade 1 learner at Diazville Primary School.
Smith has now been missing for two weeks and the search party has been bolstered by a contingent from the Local SA Navy, members from the city of Cape Town as well as local firefighters.
Police Minister Bheki Cele visited Joslin's family over the weekend to assure them that police have intensified their search for the first grader.
SAPS has also brought in the services of the mounted unit and more specialised dogs from the K9 unit.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Novela Potelwa says detectives from Cape Town have also descended on the West Coast town.
She says blood-stained items found during a search over the weekend have been sent to the Plattekloof forensic laboratory for analysis as part of the investigation.
