Free State police are continuing the search for a man who was believed to have been kidnapped during a mob justice incident on Monday.
Warrant Office Mmako Mophiring said the search would continue on Friday for the man from Bohlokong.
She said the missing man was accused of theft by eight people who claimed he stole their property from a certain house in the area.
Mophiring said his mother said she last saw him on 20 November when he was confronted by two women and six men.
"The young man disappeared and through further police investigation information from the community suggested that he was seen inside the Liebenbergsvlei River in a tree," she added.
Mophiring said a case of kidnapping is being investigated.
