The police in North West province have launched an internal investigation into this week's escape of ten awaiting trial prisoners from the police holdings cells in Mogwase in Bojanala District Municipality.
Police spokesperson, Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone, said the escape occurred on Wednesday morning when the detainees cut through the mesh wire.
The escapees are; Johannes Mogari Nowata, Katlego Nkitle, Omphemetse Moeng, Joseph Molefe, Tebogo Michael Langeni, Obvious Mlambo, Lebogang Mokotleng, Adonis Mpofu, Eric Mkhonazi and Tshiamo Mogale.
Mokgwabone said they were facing charges ranging from house robbery, possession of suspected stolen goods, aggravated robbery, murder, attempted rape and burglary.
"Internal investigations regarding the incident have also been instituted," he said.
