School mayhem ends in Pastor Mboro's church going up in flames

SCREENSHOT OF VIDEO

Pastor Paseka 'Mboro' Motsoeneng's church in Katlehong went up in flames on Tuesday morning after he and his security personnel allegedly stormed Matshediso primary school and forcibly removed some learners believed to be his grandchildren.

The Incredible Happenings Ministries church was set alight, purportedly by a mob made up predominantly of school children, allegedly angry at Mboro's behaviour seen in a viral video.

In the video, several men can be seen wielding pangas and threatening to attack teachers on the school premises.

In the same clip, another man is seen grabbing two pupils, who were caught in the violence, while another is wielding an assault rifle.

The number of arrests climbed to five by Tuesday afternoon with police refusing to divulge if Mboro was one of those arrested.

Gauteng police spokesperson Noxolo Khweza said the accused would appear before the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court soon.

"They are facing a variety of charges, including assault, handling a firearm recklessly that could endanger lives and property, rendering security services while not registered, malicious damage to property and intimidation.

"The replica firearm and the pangas have since been confiscated.

"One of the suspects was arrested for assaulting the station commander at Katlehong North police station when a group of people were demanding to deal with the local pastor outside the police station."

The five will face charges of intimidation and violence when they line up in court.
