Sacci to convene stakeholder meeting to address xenophobic violence

The South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry says it will be convening a meeting with the SA Police Service top brass and the CEO's and top executives of major companies who have African operations and are affected by the developments in South Africa and the continent, arising out of xenophobic attacks and the destruction of property.

SACCI says it has invited the top executives of various companies, including Multichoice, MTN, Vodacom, Coca- Cola, Absa, Standard Bank, FNB, Old Mutual, ShopRite Checkers, Builders Warehouse and Deloitte.

The Chamber says in a statement invitations were also sent to the Ambassadors and High Commissioners of Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Mozambique, Zambia, Malawi, Kenya, Ethiopia, Somali, the DRC and Nigeria to be part of the meeting.

The meeting is set to take place in Randburg on Monday.
