SABC chair and deputy resign

 SABC board chairperson, Ben Ngubane and his deputy, Thamika Plaatjie, have resigned.

SABC radio news quoted communications spokesperson, Siya Qoza, as saying President Jacob Zuma needed to decide whether to accept the resignations or not.

Last month the SABC announced that the acting chief operating officer Hlaudi Motsweneng had been "released from his duties".

Veteran journalist and head of radio news and current affairs, Mike Siluma, has been appointed to the acting position.
