Madiba discharged after check up

 Former President Mandela was discharged from hospital on Sunday after receiving treatment for a scheduled check up.

The presidency says Mandela is well and his health remains under the management of the medical team following his admission on Saturday.

In December Mandela underwent an operation to remove gallstones and to treat a recurring lung infection.

He was then placed under home-based high care at his Houghton, Johannesburg, residence.
