SAA technical staffers affiliated to trade union Satawu downed tools this morning, to demand a 12% wage increase.
SA Transport and Allied Workers Union spokesperson Vincent Masoga says the strike will carry on indefinitely as the union is not prepared to accept anything less.
Masoga says union representatives are meeting employers on Monday morning, to discuss South African Airways' 6.5% offer.
He says some members are picketing at OR Tambo International Airport, which will likely affect operations of domestic and international flights that are contracted with SAA's technical operations.
