A South African soldier, who was busy with a demonstration has fallen to his death from an Oryx helicopter.
The South African National Defence Force said the fatal incident happened on the 29th of September during the Special Forces Celebrations in Phalaborwa.
The 35-year-old Sergeant Goodwill Kabel Moagi accidentally fell from an SA Air Force Oryx helicopter during a hot extraction demonstration.
A formal investigation has been launched to determine the sequence of events that lead to the fatal incident.
The SANDF said Sergeant Moagi was a team leader when the incident happened.
The statement said the chief of the SANDF General Solly Shoke, was "saddened by the tragic passing away of an SANDF member stationed at 7 Medical Battalion during a roping demonstration in Phalaborwa".
