SA's COVID-19 death toll surpasses 10 000

South Africa's Covid-19 death toll has increased to more than 10 000.

Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize says 301 new deaths were reported in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 10 210.

The Eastern Cape's number of deaths increased by 39 and now stands at 2 129.

Mkhize says 7 714 new Covid-19 cases were reported, bringing the total in the country to 553 188.

He says the recovery rate also increased and is now at 73%.
