South African polo star Sibusiso Duma has been stabbed to death near Howick, in KwaZulu-Natal.
The SA Polo Association says 25 year old Duma was murdered on Tuesday but the motive was not known.
The Association says Duma represented South Africa against Australia in the Kirland International in 2009, scoring five goals in the game and receiving the player of the match award.
Duma, who was the first development polo player in South Africa to climb through the ranks to international level, had received a job offer to work with a professional polo player in England.
He was supposed to have left the country already, but had been held back by visa issues.
