The South African government has renewed its efforts to convince the British government that South Africans do not require a visa to visit the UK.
The British visa requirements were introduced in March 2008, for several reasons including the fact that South African passports and ID books were found among the possessions of two terror suspects who were not South African citizens.
The department of internal affairs says it is of the opinion that internal corruption has been eradicated and that South African passports comply with international security standards.
