Five correctional services officials accused of working with a gang to commit various crimes in prison, have been arrested in Worcester.
Western Cape police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Andre' Traut, says they will be charged for offences related to drug trafficking and corruption.
He says they also face a charge under the Prevention of Organised Crime Act.
Traut says the arrest of the prisons officials is part of a lengthy investigation into the criminal activities of the Junior Cisko Yakies gang.
32 gang members have been arrested in connection with the murders of two men in the Breede Valley prison last year.
