Right-wingers in court

The Bloemfontein magistrate's court has heard dramatic details of how a group of right-wingers plotted to kill ANC top brass.

Four men, aged between 40 and 50, were arrested over the weekend and charged with high treason and terrorism.

State prosecutor Shaun Abrahams alleged the four Mark Trollip, Johan Prinsloo, Martin Keevy and Hein Boonzaaier were
part of a group who planned the "Battle of Mangaung", to eliminate the country's leaders.

According to reports the court heard that the men had planned to use mortars to attack the ANC conference and also kill the party's leaders execution style.

Police have done several about-turns on the men's arrest.

They initially denied earlier reports that the arrests were linked to the Mangaung plot but then did another double-take.
