Members of the Stock Theft and Endangered Species Unit in Limpopo have launched a hunt for suspects who shot and killed a white rhino this week in the Vhembe district.
Spokesperson Colonel Malasela Ledwaba says over the weekend, an employee in Tshilwavhusiku, Makhado discovered that only one Rhino appeared for feeding.
He says the dead Rhino was discovered soon after a search was launched.
Colonel Ledwaba says both horns were missing.
The animal sustained five bullet wounds, three to the head and two to the body.
He says this heinous crime sparked a massive manhunt.
Police vowed to leave no stone unturned to bring those responsible to book.
