Relief for motorists expected at fuel pumps in November

The Autombile Association of South South says sustained declines in international oil prices since mid-month will bring some relief at the pumps next month

The AA was commenting on Thursday on unaudited fuel price data released at month-end by the Central Energy Fund.

In a statement, the Association said their mid-month concerns over stronger oil prices have been allayed by the ongoing retreat in global oil prices.

The AA says the situation has been further strengthened by a modest flattening of the Rand / US dollar exchange rate.

It says it expects the reduction in diesel prices to be muted while the petrol price is showing declines of between 18 and 22 cents a litre.

The AA says fuel prices have returned to levels last seen in March this year.
