President Cyril Ramaphosa will brief the nation on Sunday on the Public Protector's report on allegations that he violated the Executive Ethics Code of conduct related to a Bosasa donation.
The presidency announced that he will hold the briefing at the Union Buildings in Pretoria at 18:00.
Adv. Busisiwe Mkhwebane found on Friday that Ramaphosa "deliberately misled" Parliament when he responded to a question about a R500 000 donation to his 2017 ANC presidential campaign from controversial company Bosasa in November last year.
The ANC has meanwhile backed the President, saying reaffirmation of his respect for the office of the Public Protector and the essential role it needs to play in promoting accountability and advancing the interests of the South African people, is consistent with the views of the party on all Chapter 9 institutions.
