Ramaphosa reshuffles his Cabinet

President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced a Cabinet reshuffle.

Siyabonga Cwele is the new Minister of Home Affairs and replaces Malusi Gigaba who resigned earlier this month amid a series of reputational knocks to his public image.

Nomvula Mokonyane is the new minister of Environmental Affairs following the death of Edna Molewa.

The President also announced on Thursday that Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams, who hails from Mthatha in the Eastern Cape, is the new Communiciations Minister.

He said she will head up a new ministry in which the ministries of Communications and Telecommunications are merged.

"This move is going to ensure that we have better alignment and co-ordination of matters that are critical to the future of the South African economy, particularly in the context of the fourth industrial revolution," said the President.
