President Cyril Ramaphosa has called on South Africans to come out in numbers and vote on the 29th of May.
He says by voting people are taking responsibility for their future and the future of their communities.
Speaking in a public address on Saturday, he said the right to vote had been a cornerstone of the country's democratic order and was enshrined in the Bill of Rights of the Constitution.
"As you cast your vote through a special ballot on the 27th and 28th of May and on election day on the 29th, you will be demonstrating your faith in our democratic order", Ramaphosa said.
He said most importantly, people would be deciding for themselves the direction that the country should take and determining the path that should be followed to get there.
