The Congress of Traditional Leaders of South Africa (Contralesa) says a "radical" plan will be introduced to curb deaths at initiation
schools in South Africa.
Contralesa announced on Wednesday morning that it would unveil a systematic "death-free plan" which would be in line with its August 2013 declaration of zero deaths at
initiation schools.
Contralesa president Kgoshi Setlamorago Thobejane says the aim is to restore the ritual to its traditional values.
He said Contralesa could not continue to be part of cultural practices that kill initiates and that death-free initiation schools are non-negotiable.
