An inquiry into the crash which killed 20 people in Meyerton last year, has found that the bus involved had failed a roadworthy test two days before.
Gauteng transport MEC Ismail Vadi confirmed this in a letter to the Democratic Alliance.
Putco has denied that the bus was unroadworthy and that the driver was negligent, saying he was distracted by his passengers.
Twenty people, including the bus driver, died and 55 other passengers were injured in the accident on the 25th of June last year.
