Predicted relief at fuel pumps short-lived as slight increase is announced

All grades of petrol will increase by 4 cents per litre on Wednesday.

This is contrary to expectations and predictions from the Automobile Association who predicted a slight relief of at least 11 cents per litre.

The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy announced the latest fuel adjustments on Tuesday.
Diesel prices will go down by 15.22 cents per litre for 0.05% sulphur and 14.22 cents per litre for 0.005% sulphur.

Paraffin will drop by 15 cents per litre while gas will increase by 90 cents per kilogram.

The Department says the average international product prices for Petrol, Diesel and Illuminating Paraffin decreased during the period under review while the Rand depreciated against the US Dollar.
