Police uncover dagga lab in Cape Town

One of the coolers used to cultivate dagga

SAPS

Two suspects are expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrates Court in Cape Town on Thursday after police discovered a hydroponic cannabis laboratory at their home in Ottery on Tuesday.

A police spokesperson Colonel Andre Traut says the lab had dagga drying equipment and various plants valued at around R820 000.00.

He says there were four cooling units on the property which were each transformed into hot-houses, fully equipped with plants in various stages of cultivation.

Colonel Traut says the suspects aged 33 and 36 will face a charge of drug trafficking.
