Police deny leaking Pistorius murder case information to media

The SA Police Service has denied leaking critical information about the Oscar Pistorius murder case which appeared in a Sunday newspaper.

Spokeperson, Lt. Col. Katlego Mogale says they don't know where the paper got these stories, as they haven't issued a statement or spoken to anyone.

City Press reports that through "in-depth interviews" with sources "close" to the police investigation, it could reveal that a bloodied cricket bat found at Pistorius' home was going to be a key piece of evidence in court.

The article also detailed a phone call Pistorius allegedly made to his father in the early hours of the morning; as well as the fact police apparently asked for Pistorius to be tested for drugs and steroids.

Reeva Steenkamp, a model and law graduate was shot and killed in Pistorius' Pretoria home early Thursday morning.

Earlier on Sunday, the National Prosecuting Authority called for the source of the reports to the media, to be identified.
