Update: Officer Silowe has been found. No further details were released by SAPS
Mpumalanga police have launched a search for a female police officer who was last seen on Sunday.
The 26-year-old Constable Baswabile Mildred Silowe was travelling from her home in Bushbuckridge to Lydenburg where she is stationed.
Spokesperson Brigadier Leonard Htlati says Constable Silowe took public transport to the Bushbuckridge Shopping Complex and was on her way to the taxi rank when she got offered a lift from a stranger.
He says Constable Silowe immediately informed her sister that she got offered a lift and that was the last time they have seen or heard from her.
Her sister tried several times to reach her by phone, without success.
