Six people have been arrested for the assassination of popular musician, Kiernan Forbes (AKA) and his friend Tebello 'Tibz' Motsoane, in Durban.
Police announced the breakthrough on Tuesday night.
KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi said those arrested included the alleged shooters, spotters, and the coordinator of the hit.
He told a media briefing that the investigation established that one of the two alleged spotters arrested had tailed Forbes from the airport when he arrived in Durban.
The others supplied firearms and several cars which were seized between March last year and this year.
Two of the arrests were made in Swaziland but the suspects were not in the country yet.
Mkhwanazi said the police strategy was to investigate parallel cases that the identified suspects could be linked to, before announcing details of the arrests.
He said four of the suspects have been linked to several other cases that include murder and will appear in court on Thursday.
Forbes was gunned down outside a popular restaurant on Florida Road in Durban on 10 February 2023.
