Pistorius to be sentenced in April after losing Concourt appeal

The Constitutional Court has refused paralympian, Oscar Pistorius, leave to appeal a Supreme Court of Appeal decision to overturn his culpable homicide conviction to one of murder.

According to reports, Pistorius will thus be sentenced in the Pretoria High Court in April for the Valentine's Day murder of his model girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.

The National Prosecuting Authority reportedly also welcomed the decision, saying it was ready to proceed with Pistorius' sentencing on 18 April.

The NPA has already stated that it would ask for the minimum prescribed sentence of 15 years in jail for Pistorius.
