A man in his sixties has sadly died after a light aircraft crashed next to an airfield in Ermelo.
Mpumalanga police said the accident happened on Saturday morning.
Spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdhluli said emergency services rushed to the scene of the accident where the pilot was declared dead.
He said there were no other people on the plane which he said appeared to have flown from Bethlehem in the Free State.
The Civil Aviation Authority is probing the matter, while police have opened a culpable homicide docket.
