Perlemoen of R1-million confiscated in Cape Town.

A man has been arrested for possession of perlemoen worth about R1 million in Bellville, Cape Town.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Tembinkosi Kinana says the driver of a bakkie and trailer sped away from police when they tried to stop him, but was eventually cornered in Bellville.

Police caught the 26-year-old man when he tried to run away.

Kinana says police found more than 100 bags filled with perlemoen stashed away in the bakkie and the trailer.

He will appear in court soon.
